Dimapur, June 6 (DIPR): As the road condition becomes a major issue for the common citizens of Dimapur, the problem has been highlighted at the District Planning Board. The Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, N. Hushili Sema who is also the Vice Chairperson said that Dimapur being the gate way and the only commercial hub of the State required urgent improvement of road condition. She added that the concern department needs to give special attention to address the problem.
The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) for the month of June was held at DC's Conference Hall on 5th June 2012. At the outset the chairperson welcomed all the Board members in the meeting and the new member Superintendent of Excise.
The chairperson cautioned that from this month onwards the Board would write to the department of the concern officer habitual absence in the meeting which would also adversely reflect in one's APR, as the value of APR for every member would be depend on these meeting. District Soil Conservation Dimapur, Hevikhe Sumi presented power point on departmental activities in the district with special reference to Vermi composting for sustainable agriculture. The chairperson said that people should not only depend on government alone for their living but should go for sustainable agriculture such as vermi composting which has good returns for the formers.
Agenda submitted by Dhansiri River Flood Control Board requested for fund under common pool (2012-2013) has been discussed and further forwarded for approval to the department of Irrigation & Flood Control for assistance for plantation of trees on river bank and putting up of signboard. The Board also approved and forwarded to the government for opening of Sub-Fire Brigade Station at DC's Court & 4th mile Diphupar.
The chairperson also informed that only 16 departments has submitted 12th Five Year Plan and further reminded the members who are yet to submit to do so on or before 15th of this month. The department of R & B and Housing has been entrusted to present power point on departmental activities in the district in the next Board meeting.
