Dimapur, June 1 (MExN): The District Task Force (DTF) Dimapur has resolved to curtail market timings and vehicular movement in the interest and safety of the public. 


Following a meeting of the Task Force on Monday, it was resolved that market timing would be reduced to 9:00 am to 2:00 pm from the present 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. For the time being, malls, showrooms and restaurants (including take away services) will be completely closed. Further, the Task Force also decided that the timing for hardware shops would be fixed from 6:00 am to 10:00 am throughout Dimapur.


All shops in New Market, Hong Kong Market, Hazi Park, Millennium market, Railway Bazaar and vegetable market in Purana Bazaar shall remain closed. All weekly bazaars will also be closed. 


Meanwhile all shops, including shops in residential and market complex, alongwith neighbourhood shops and standalone shops, except shops at multi brand and single brand malls, outside the limits of municipalities and town councils with 50% strength of workers will be permitted to be open.   


According to updates from the DIPR, the odd and even exercise for vehicular movement will be continued and movement will be allowed only till 2:00 pm, after which only the exempted categories will be allowed movement. Accordingly, Dimapur police has been tasked with monitoring the movement of traffic. 

 

 

Additional COVID-19 Hospital for Dimapur


With the maximum number of COVID-19 positive cases admitted at Dimapur COVID Hospital, the Task Force noted the urgent need to keep buffer stock of ventilators, monitors, regulators, and other medical equipment. It was decided that Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi  would write officially to the higher authority for action to be taken. Further, the members decided that in case of emergency, Plan B would be for identification of additional COVID-19 Hospital for Dimapur district, for which a letter would be written to the Government at the earliest. The members also deliberated on the need for installing Truenat machines at Dimapur for more testing as more special trains would be arriving this week and presently, the samples from Dimapur are sent to Kohima and Dibrugarh.


On the status of BSL 2 laboratory, the DC informed that it will take at least another 15 to 20 days or so to get it commissioned.

 

 

Status of quarantine centres


DC Dimapur meanwhile informed that presently, there are 46 quarantine centres at Dimapur with 4085 beds. He also said that the Ganeshnagar Quarantine Centre would be able to accommodate 1000 returnees. The most important task, he said, was to contain spread in the quarantine centres with strict protocols and emphasized on the importance of sanitising the quarantine centres and the Agri Expo. The DC assured all logistic support if and when required.


In this regard, Dimapur Municipal Council Administrator Albert Ezung informed the members that besides carrying out the normal routine of collection and disposal of garbage, sanitisation teams have been undertaking additional responsibilities of disinfecting the 46 quarantine centres. He also informed that all the 46 quarantine centres are sprayed with disinfectant before and after the returnees’ occupation. Further, waste is also collected from all the quarantine centres, he informed. 

 


‘Patients are stable and healthy’


The DC also informed that all 25 positive COVID 19 patients who are presently admitted at Dimapur COVID Hospital are stable and healthy. He advised the people not to panic but to be disciplined and sincerely follow all safety protocols. Dimapur Chief Medical Officer Dr Tia Pongener informed that presently, the focus is on isolating the returnees of the Chennai special train. As of now, 189 of them have been shifted in the isolation centres and kept in separate rooms with attached bathrooms, in order to avoid community transmission.


According to Medical Superintendent Dr Kheshito highlighted the urgent need for purchasing the dialysis machine and for installing the same at Dimapur COVID Hospital. He is also said to have highlighted on the urgent requirements for Dimapur COVID 19 Hospital. However, no details were provided in the DIPR report.
