Dimapur | September 22
Dimapur will witness what is proclaimed to be the biggest Dandiya and Garba cultural festival in the city’s history. The event will be organised by the Unity Circle Club in collaboration with Lions Club Champions and Lions Club Blue Vanda on September 28 and 29 at the Lions Centre, in Dimapur.
Making the announcement at a press conference on September 22, the organisers said that the two-day festival will feature DJs—Vishakha, Jeff, Bella, and Shree, besides live dhol performances, a maha aarti every evening, and contests such as Best Group Dance and Best Dandiya Dancer.
Prizes will be awarded to both kids and adults, judged by a panel that includes a local expert and a special guest from Gujarat, adding authenticity to the Garba tradition. Free dandiya sticks will be provided to all participants, encouraging everyone to join.
According to the organisers, the venue will feature different decorations on both days, along with multiple selfie booths and a wide range of food stalls.
It was added that security measures will be in place to ensure a safe environment, particularly for women.
