Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) visited Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC&S), Sukhovi on March 16 as part of his farewell visit.
Upon his arrival, the General Officer was given a guard of honour. He inaugurated MB Rai Auditorium in presence of Brigadier Gurjap Singh, DIG Assam Rifles Training Centre and School and all officers and staff of the training establishment, informed a press release from the ARTC&S.
He also addressed the Jawans and recruits in a special Sainik Sammelan and expressed his happiness on achievement of the premier training establishment of the Assam Rifles. Lt Gen Chauhan exhorted all officers and men to uphold the rich traditions of the force and to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and moral uprightness.
He further appreciated the training methodology of the School, which he said is in sync with technological advancement and operational effectiveness of the force. The training centre, he mentioned, will get an opportunity to train personnel of friendly foreign countries in near future.
The DGAR extended his greetings and blessings to all ranks of the ARTC&S for their unflinching hard work and professional competence towards the development of the organization, according to the release.
