Kohima, November 1 (MExN): The Directorate of Census Operations in an appeal letter has informed that in order to achieve complete coverage of all eligible citizens for Biometrics, it is imperative that the ward/village chairman, GBs assist the Department of Census Operations, the district administration and the operators, of the concerned companies in carrying out the exercise. They are requested to assist the district administration in selecting suitable venues. All citizens above 5 years of age are to report for Biometrics exercise at the designated venues. Each head of the household is requested to report at the Biometric camp with the acknowledgement slip issued during the NPR. In case the acknowledgement slip has been misplaced or lost, they may contact their enumerator who will be available at the Biometric camp venue, along with details of their Census House number. All citizens of the State are requested to avail of the Biometric services in the first round of the Biometric operations as far as possible. Following the collection of Biometric records, a list of usual residents will be notified in each village/colony and hence citizens should ensure that their names as well as those of their household members are not found to be missing from the list.
An appeal is also made to enumerators to ensure that they report to their respective Charge Officers prior to the Camps for necessary collection of related documents. Honorarium shall be made only after due completion of the duties assigned by their respective Charge officers.
In this regard, the Director Census, V. Hekali Zhimomi IAS has earnestly requested to the Ward/Village Chairman and the GBs to kindly coordinate with the Department of Census Operations, the Administration and the Operators of the concerned Companies in carrying out the operation.
