Mangkolemba, April 24 (MExN): The Second Phase of the National School Safety Programme, Mangkolemba Block concluded successfully at the Town Hall here today. It was attended by seventy three teachers from seventy schools under the Mangkolemba sub-divisional block under Mokokchung district. The programme is being implemented by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSMDA).

Though classes remained suspended in all the government schools under the Mangkolemba sub-division heeding to the agitation call given by the All Nagaland School Teachers Association in protest against the ‘abduction’ of teachers in Wokha district, the centrally sponsored NSS Programme, which started on April 23, successfully concluded. The Civil Defense & Home Guards and the fire department imparted training on different rescue techniques like bandaging, holding stretchers, CPR etc.

“We are very satisfied with the training. In fact this training is more satisfactory than the one held at Mokokchung town earlier. The teachers were very cooperative and we have seen a lot of improvement in the teachers after the training has been conducted,” said Gwasolo Magh, a Sub-Inspector who led the CD&HG training team. The SDEO of Mangkolemba Sub-division, Alemla Jamir termed the disaster management training as a very satisfactory one and stated that it was a privilege for the teachers and students to be trained and prepared for any eventuality.
