Although, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh declined to comment anything on the integration of Naga inhabited areas issue citing it as too “sensitive”, the Prime Minister is reported to have told the visiting DAN delegation that India is sincerely and consciously working on the ongoing peace process.
Nagaland Minister for School Education, Imkong Imchen said that they met Indian Prime Minister today in spite of his heavy schedule in the ongoing budget session. “We met him today. He gave us a patient hearing and said that the talks between government of India and NSCN-IM is going to be tomorrow”, Imkong said.
The DAN delegation put up a number of issues before the Prime Minister today, however, the discussion was dominated by integration of the Naga inhabited areas and the ongoing peace process.
“Prime Minister is conscious about the ongoing talks”, said Imchen, adding that that as agreed by both NSCN factions, the Centre is also focusing on reviewing of the ceasefire ground rules. The DAN delegation will return to the State tomorrow.
