Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): To meet the ever growing needs and demands of “Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health”, the Department of Health and Family Welfare had conducted Training of District Trainers in two batches at the Directorate’s conference hall from September 12 to 14 and September 15 to 17.
A press note informed that participants included Medical Officers, Nurses and Counselors from the districts of Phek, Longleng, Zunheboto and Kiphire (1st batch), Mon, Peren and Wokha (2nd batch). Altogether 17 MOs, 10 Nurse and 11 Counselors were trained. The note also said that topics covered during the training included sexual growth and development during adolescence, making services adolescent friendly, sexual and reproductive health concerns of boys and girls during adolescence, management of RTIs, STIs, and HIV/AIDS in adolescents, etc. Dr P.K Goswami, Senior Advisor and Consultant Pediatrician, MAMTA, Health Institute for Mother and Child, New Delhi and Dr M.Zao, MO i/c ARTC NHAK were the resource persons for the training.
