DMC calls on CM Rio, calls for improved administrative support

DIMAPUR, MARCH 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), led by Chairman Hukheto Yepthomi, called on Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio at his residence in Sovima on February 5.

The delegation included Councillor Jonathan Yepthomi of Ward No. 23 and Councillor Nikali Sumi Chishi of Ward No. 7, both of whom recently joined the Naga People’s Front (NPF).

During the meeting, the Chief Minister welcomed the two councillors into the party and conveyed his appreciation for their decision to join the NPF. He also expressed hope that their inclusion would further strengthen the party’s activities and public service efforts at the grassroots level.

The discussion also focused on several key issues concerning the functioning and welfare of the Dimapur Municipal Council. Matters such as the assessment of DMC properties, trade license regulations, sanitation management, and issues related to municipal vehicles were deliberated upon.

The delegation highlighted the need for improved administrative measures and support to enhance the overall functioning and welfare of the municipal council. 

The DMC team also acknowledged the support and guidance of the Chief Minister during the meeting. They expressed appreciation for his willingness to listen to the council’s concerns and for his continued encouragement towards improving civic administration in Dimapur. The delegation noted that the Chief Minister’s guidance and assurance of cooperation would play an important role in strengthening the functioning of the Dimapur Municipal Council and enhancing public service delivery.
