Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): On the first day of implementing the odd-even traffic rule in Dimapur, the police penalized 746 vehicles for violation of the rule on May 11. 


A press release from the PRO, Dimapur Police, informed that an amount of Rs 1,41,050 was realized from defaulters, which will be credited to the government treasury.

 
Speaking to the DPRO, Dimapur, the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo IPS informed that the implementation of the new rule was successful with “several constructive criticisms as well as positive suggestions.” He reiterated that the police would try their best to implement the system in order to ease traffic congestion at Dimapur. The Commissioner appreciated the public for their cooperation and sought the same in the future. 


Meanwhile, the Dimapur Police has appealed to all government employees with attached government vehicles in the district to commute only for official purposes.
