DNSU responds to ENSUD

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Student’s Union (DNSU) has acknowledged the appeal made by Eastern Naga Student’s Union Dimapur (ENSUD) to exempt collection of membership / census fee of Rs 1  per head within its jurisdiction for the 6 (six) tribal units of the ENSUD. The DNSU, in a press note, informed that, in its pursuit to have proper records of Institution(s) and student enrolment within its jurisdiction in both Government and Private institution, the union had gone on an educational tour with the objective of keeping records of student data and educational institution(s) within its jurisdiction.

DNSU informed that it had, in its earlier resolution in 2007, “stopped deriving of Students’ membership fee of students’ community within its jurisdiction as its Office felt prerogative of its Constituent Units to have membership fee within their own units and furthermore not to burden the students community again.”

While acknowledging the concern of the six units, it stated that the DNSU has “always valued their principles in pioneering the interests of the student community of their six units.” It iterated that DNSU has been advocating and rendering its services for the interest and welfare of the Students community in particular and for the Dimapurians in general, “irrespective of tribal or communal lines.”

The DNSU informed that for further queries, the union will be ever ready to clarify/assist and further invited all concerned to its Union Office near Fire Brigade, Dimapur during working days.
