Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): Making its last appearance in Nagaland, the casket containing the Relic of Don Bosco is arriving at Dimapur on May 21, 20011. This was informed by the Don Bosco Alumni Dimapur Provincial Federation at a press conference today. The casket containing the right hand of Don Bosco will be taken across different schools of the Selesian Family located in Dimapur and Chumukedima. The relic will arrive at 9 am May 21, and will be received by various dignitaries at Nagaland Gate. The elic of the Saint will leave Dimapur for Diphu on May 25 at 5:30 am.
Don Bosco’s relic is currently on a world tour to 130 countries as part of the preparation of the bicentenary of the birth of the Saint. The relic containing the right hand of Don Bosco is significant to the Selesian family as during his life time, Don Bosco used his hands to bless people; comfort the young people; build churches and institutions. There are 7 Don Bosco schools in Nagaland and thousands of students as well as catholic believers are expected to pay tribute to the Relic. The Relic of Don Bosco has already make stops at Kohima and Wokha before it made its way to upper Assam.
In order to honour Don Bosco, the Selesian family of Dimapur Province, of which Don Bosco is also member, will commemorate the visit of the relic of Don Bosco by installing a life sized statue of the Saint in Dimapur town.
