As part of the Fit India Movement, Dorians Society, Dimapur organised a non-competitive fitness walk in Dimapur on August 28. The walkathon-captioned 'Nature-Fitness Walk 2021'- covering approximately 18km, was organised in partnership with Impact Ministry and Dimapur District Basketball Association. 

A total number of 46 participants, including children, from Kohima and Dimapur completed the walk from the Clock Tower junction to the hockey ground, Nagaland Police Complex, Chümoukedima. 11-year old Jongari Jamir from Kohima was the youngest participant to complete the walk, while the oldest was a 50 year-old from Dimapur. 

Wapong Longkumer, a pioneering member of Dorians Society said that the fitness walkathon was in essence an idea to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. He also informed that Dorians Society will be commemorating its 25th founding anniversary (Silver Jubilee) in 2022 and the Society is planning to hold a host of events in the lead up to the anniversary celebration. 

It was further informed that the event was held keeping in mind COVID appropriate protocols and with due permission from the district administration and Nagaland Police Complex authority.
