DoSE suspends teachers’ rationalisation order

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 17 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education has suspended recent orders mandating the transfer of over 1,300 government school teachers, following significant opposition from various student organizations and communities.

In a notification dated February 17, Principal Director Thavaseelan K of the Directorate of School Education announced that the orders issued on February 6 and February 10, 2025, concerning the transfer and posting of teachers, are now on hold pending further review.

The initial directive aimed to reassign 840 primary teachers, 341 graduate teachers, and 191 head teachers as part of a rationalization policy intended to address staffing disparities across the state's educational institutions. However, the implementation faced immediate backlash from scores of organisations across the state.
