Wokha, April 17 (MExN): The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Ltd has reissued a public advisory reminding individuals, groups, and organisations that the Doyang Hydro Power Station (DHPS) located in the Wokha District remains a Protected Area under a Government of Nagaland notification. The project area was declared a Protected Area vide Notification No. CON-123/95 dated October 5, 1996, and continues to be governed by applicable security regulations.

In the advisory, NEEPCO stated that no individual, group, or organisation shall collect any form of tax, fee, donation, or levy within the DHPS project area. Carrying out any form of business, trade, or commercial activity within the project premises without the prior consent of the project authority is also prohibited, it added.

The corporation further cautioned that any person entering or engaging in activities within the premises without prior authorisation shall do so at their own risk, and that unauthorised entry, occupation, or interference with project property and operations is strictly prohibited.

“Any person found violating the above provisions shall be liable for appropriate legal action as per applicable laws and regulations,” the advisory stated.

The notice has been issued in public interest to ensure the safety, security, and smooth functioning of the power station, which is described as a vital and sensitive asset of national importance meant exclusively for power generation purposes.

The advisory has been issued by Senkathung Patton, General Manager (Technical)/HOPS, DHPS, NEEPCO Ltd.
