Kiphire | August 5 : The monthly meeting of DPDB Kiphire was held at the official chamber of the Deputy Commissioner with Chairman DPDB & Parliamentary secretary CAWD, T Torechu and MLA Kipili. Others who attended the meeting were head of departments and adviser KTC.
While discussing on beautification of the town, DPDB chairman asked the department of highways and road & bridges to clear all the drains so that there is no stagnation of water in the town areas. He also asked the concerned department to submit the proposal within one month in order to start execution of work. He further warned to take action if the concern department fails to submit the report in one month time as the issue is being discussed since a year now.
Sharing concern on the land slide in town areas, the chairman said, “with the help of the citizen we should collectively do something for the good of the town so that it goes along with the rest of the town in the state” and he assured the board that there should be no dearth of fund and only thing is co-operation. The chairman also asked the head of departments to safeguard all the departmental quarter as there is rampant writing off of government quarter.
KTC Adviser Tsapikyu who also took part in the discussion requested the highway department to clear up all the drainage that is being blocked in the town inorder to solve the landslide problem in the town. New agendas were approval of 1 crore 99 lakh under LADF fund for both 59 & 60 AC and posting of EAC at Longmatra. Earlier, Vice chairman and DC welcome the gathering and reviewed the meeting minute. The house also welcome Tinojungshi SDO (C) as new DPDB member.
