Dimapur, May 26 (DIPR): Acknowledging the hard work and efforts of DPS students, Delhi Public School Dimapur felicitated the student achievers of DPS in the recently declared All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (AISSCE).
Marking the day, Advisor Urban Development, Government of Nagaland, SI Jamir who is also the Chairman of DPS, Dimapur, graced the occasion as the chief guest on May 26.
Exhorting the students, the chief guest encouraged the successful students never to look back but to strife harder to achieve more. He said that opening of DPS was conceived many years back not to have business organization but to give best available education to the young children. "Till such time there was no DPS in Nagaland affiliated to CBSE", he added and expressed gratitude to the elder students for making the members of the managing board, teaching staff, principal and the parents proud by their achievements. He further advised the younger students to surpass this year's achievement in order to bring more laurels to the institution.
The chief guest felicitated the student achievers with a cash prize of Rs. 25000, a bouquet and a certificate.
Principal DPS, who also spoke on the occasion, said that it was an opportunity to welcome the chief guest showcasing the academic talents of the students who are going to take the country into new heights in the likes of APJ Abdul Kalam and Gandhi.
He also reminded that it was the personal initiative of S.I Jamir to open DPS in Dimapur in 2002 with a vision to give quality education with minimum expenditure to the people of Nagaland. The Principal expressed gratitude to the parents, management, and contribution of teaching and non- teaching staff for their support. He also informed about the policy decision taken by the school where a cash award of Rs 1 Lakh will be given to any student who secures 100% henceforth.
It may be mentioned that 6 students of DPS secured 95% and above and 12 students secured 90% and above in the recently declared AISSCE examination.
