Dimapur, AUGUST 18 (MExN): The Delhi Public School (DPS), Dimapur, issued a statement, on August 18, refuting allegations that its pupils were involved in a recent assault incident. Recently, a video clip of a group of youths assaulting another youth in Dimapur went viral. It was accompanied with a caption claiming that the unidentified assaulters were students of DPS, Dimapur.
“Contrary to the contents of various social media posts, none of the individuals involved in the assault are students of Delhi Public School, nor are any of them even remotely related to the school in any manner,” stated the statement.
While stating that the caption was false, it said that the misleading information has maligned the school’s name, while subjecting it to social media trial.
It urged all to refrain from spreading unverified claims, and said that the incorrect reporting has cast serious aspersions on the reputation of the school, its students, and the parents.
“We are committed to protecting the integrity of our school and therefore, all appropriate measures under the law towards this end is being pursued,” it said.
“We advocate for peaceful conflict resolution and stand against all forms of aggression and bullying,” it said. It added that the school was concerned for the wellbeing of the victim and wished for his speedy recovery.
As an institution, it said that the DPS, Dimapur is committed to fostering integrity, empathy, discipline and good conduct among its students, while imparting quality education rooted in truth, fairness and strong values.
