Kohima, March 25 (MExN): The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) under the Ministry of Finance has appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report illegal activities during the upcoming by--election to the 28 Koridang (ST) Assembly Constituency in Nagaland.
In a public notice, DRI said it has been designated as the nodal agency of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) for the bye-poll and is working to ensure free and fair polls by preventing smuggling and illicit trade.
“During the Model Code of Conduct period, citizens are requested to remain vigilant,” it said, warning against smuggling of narcotics, gold, foreign currency, wildlife items and other contraband.
