DSSU destroys illegal drugs 

Dimapur, July 4 (MExN): The Dimapur Sümi Students' Union on July 2 destroyed illegal substances amounting to approximately 10,080 capsules of Sulfadoxine pyrimethamine (Sp), a press release informed on Sunday.

The release stated that the drugs were seized by NSCN/GPRN, UT from Burma Camp area and under the directive of the caretaker CAO, UT and handed over to the DSSU for disposal. The DSSU after informing and consulting the Dimapur Sümi Council destroyed the seized drugs at the DMC dumping site.

The student body cautioned that in recent times, illicit drug use is becoming increasingly prevalent among the youths and is destroying many lives in the process. In this regard, it appealed to the law enforcing agencies of the district/state to keep a strict watch on the illegal activities going on around in the interest of the younger generations.
