Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): Expressing solidarity with the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (NSSATA), Dimapur Sumi Students Union (DSSU) visited the agitating SSA teachers at DEO Office, Half-Nagarjan, Dimapur.
Attacking the state government for being “so arrogant and irresponsible”, DSSU stated that it will not allow any force/institutions/organisations to jeopardize the future of the students, said a press release. Further, it asserted that it is the students who have been made to bear the brunt of this issue and their future being sacrificed at the altar of corruption. Therefore, DSSU urged the authorities responsible to take corrective measures at the earliest before this issue gets out of hand, and in the best interest of the welfare of the students.
DSSU President Hutoshe Kits and Joint Srcretary Steve Chophy in the statement expressed regret and resentment at the injustice being meted out to the teachers and also backed their genuine demands. DSSU also appealed to all the responsible student organizations to come forward and support the genuine demands of the teachers “as in this issue the careers of the students are held at stake for unknown and unwanted purpose.”
