DUDA 4th batch vocational training concludes

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) concluded its fourth batch of Vocational Training on carpentry and tailoring for Border Area Development Programme (BADP) 2010-11. Altogether 21 trainees have successfully completed three months vocational training. The training was organized by DUDA in collaboration with Craft Council, Nagaland.
At the valedictory function, held at Savino Craft, Kuda village, Dimapur, chief guest Alan Gonmei, Director, DUDA congratulated the now trained and qualified craftsmen on having concluded their training successfully. He encouraged the trainees to start their entrepreneurship now that their training is over. He further advised the trainees to judiciously make use of the tools and implements provided by the Department. He also urged the trainees to be torchbearers, take what they have learned, and pass it on their fellow villagers. Gonmei, also stressed on ‘attitude’ stating that an entrepreneur must have the right and positive attitude towards work and added, “Your success depends on your attitude”.
At the valedictory programme, DUDA also distributed tools and sewing machines to each of the 21 trainees, besides giving certificates. Best artisan award were accorded to P. Ingya Konyak and Phesing Khiamungin. The valedictory programme was chaired by Thepfuzakie Angami, project Officer, DUDA, while invocation prayer was led by Kelhousetono Nagi, Deaconess, KVBC. Other highlights of the programme included a special number by the trainees, and training highlights by Craft Council Nagaland representative.
