WOKHA, AUGUST 27 (MExN): The Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Wokha and Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton, chaired the Wokha DPDB meeting on Wednesday in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Wokha Vineet Kumar, and Superintendent of Police Wokha Relo Aye.
In his address, Patton congratulated the district for its recent achievements and handed over a certificate of appreciation to the DC on behalf of the Government for Wokha securing 1st position at the State level and 4th position at the National level during the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) enrolment drive. He also lauded the Taekwondo Wokha team for winning 3rd place at the Nagaland Taekwondo Championship in Longleng and felicitated the team’s coach.
DC Vineet Kumar, who is also the Vice Chairman of DPDB Wokha, briefed members on the ongoing joint eviction drive. He highlighted the Government’s efforts to ensure that Naga citizens are not affected, evicted immigrants do not enter Nagaland, and peace is maintained in the border areas. He further underlined the importance of handling the issue with sensitivity and informed that the State Government is in close coordination with its Assam counterparts.
The House approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for 2025-26 and the registration of Wokha CSR Society. The departments of Social Welfare and Urban Development also presented their activities, achievements and future plans through a PowerPoint presentation. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Vice Chairman, DPDB Wokha.
