Kiphire, April 17 (MExN): Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly T Yangseo Sangtam inaugurated the newly constructed black topping road from National Highway 202 to Local Ground Kiphire village measuring 1.6 Km, funded by LADP Iconic Scheme during 2021-22, on April 13.
During the inauguration programme, Sangtam stated that the black-topped road was a long-awaited dream and aspiration of the people for several decades. Designating the road as a ‘People’s Road,’ he sought cooperation and support from the public to maintain the road and drainage so that the newly constructed road will last long, and urged them to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. As a stake-holder of the district every citizen is equally responsible to maintain peace and tranquillity in the district, he added.
Sangtam also acknowledged the Chief Minister for having trust and confidence on him by elevating him as Deputy Speaker recently while maintaining that “tremendous developmental activities and programmes are taking place in Eastern areas” under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
The programme was attended by the various civil societies, NGOs, church leaders, students’ organisations and Party leaders, according to a press release.
