The recent statement of MLA from Manipur RK Theko, alleging that Dzükou Valley was part of Manipur is completely baseless, unsubstantiated and a hopelessly futile attempt to sabotage an undisputable and undisputable fact that the valley was, is and will always be ‘part and parcel of the southern Angami country’.
Honorable MLA, since when did it get into your head that Dzükou Valley was part of Manipur? Is it your personal opinion, or are you making hollow claims with the mandate of the people who elected you to the Manipur Assembly? Where has your ‘integrity’ gone? Or were you bribed by the Manipur government to issue such a statement? Now don’t start to scratch your head when you see these questions, because we are not about to ask you to answer these because we know the answers for ourselves much better than you can ever imagine. No amount of back-stabbing will ever take away Dzükou valley and Kezol Tsa (virgin forests) from the real owners, which unfortunately is not the Manipur government, but the southern Angami people.
And fellow Angami (and Naga) brothers and sisters, in case you don’t know, Kezol Tsa happens to be the only remaining virgin forest in Nagaland, the size alone of which is intimidating. This forest, where even sunlight cannot penetrate and smoke from a fire does not escape to the canopy, act as natural suppliers of lots of pure oxygen and where precipitation takes its own course and thereby blessing the Southern Angami country and surrounding areas with fresh water supply and very pleasant climatic conditions year round. And we will never part with even an inch of our valleys, forests and natural resources.
So, for detractors, let there be no doubt whatsoever that Dzükou valley and kezol Tsa belong to the Southern Angami people, and it is for every lover of nature to enjoy in its breath taking beauty.
