e-Government Project Lifecycle Workshop concludes

Kohima, September 30 (DIPR): Advisor, IT & C, Vikho-o Yhoshu graced the valedictory function of the e-Governance Project Lifecycle Workshop as the Chief Guest this evening. The weeklong training was held at ‘the Heritage’, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima from September 26 to 30 which was organized by the Department of Information technology & Communication, Nagaland in association with the National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG).
Speaking on the occasion, Vikho-o Yhoshu said that the objective of the workshop is to equip the participants with a range of emerging practices and examples of how e-Government services can be undertaken by Government organizations/Departments to strategically plan and transform their organization/Department to realign Government service delivery with the citizen focus; improve transparency, accountability and trust in the Government; improve the citizen experience in Government transactions, reducing time, costs and administrative burden for Government agencies. He said that the Department of IT&C has the capability to improve the lives of the citizens and the IT revolution holds great hope for a better tomorrow. He further said that the Department of IT&C was created with a view to promote the use of Information Technology (IT) and act as a promoter/facilitator in the field of Information Technology in the state and build an IT interface with the rest of the country and the world. He gave an overview of the various activities that the department is undertaking and invited all departments to come forward to participate towards building a smart government in Nagaland.
COO, Sagar Group of Technologies (Programme Anchor), Wing Commander, A.K.Srinivas gave a summary of the training while SP, Kiphire, Temjensenla Jamir and State Nodal Officer for IT & Leprosy, Dept of H&FW, Dr K.Vikato Kinimi spoke on behalf of the participants. The programme was chaired by Director, IT&C, Imjung M.Panger while vote of thanks was delivered by Under Secretary, IT&C, Sangmai C.Imlong. The Chief Guest also gave away certificates to 22 participants.
