Mokokchung, October 19 (DIPR): Director ATI and Observer, Election Commission of India, V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS held a meeting at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Mokokchung on October 19 with Administrative Officers, Political Party Leaders and various social organizations to discuss the summery revision of Electoral Roll.
The Election Commission Official detailed the report from the Election Commission regarding the need to go for a summery revision for Electoral Roll. It has been found that the Electoral Roll is not consistent with the population figure of census 2011; therefore a revision has to be conducted to eliminate the anomalies and come up with a proper Electoral Roll as per the directive of Election Commission. He opined that all section of the society need to co-operate to ensure that revision work could be successfully carried out.
During an interactive session different representative shared their opinion to eliminate the various anomalies in the Electoral Roll. Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi while sharing an overview on the revision of the Electoral Roll maintained, Booth Level Agents, Public leaders and parents can play an effective roll during the conduct of this operation.
