Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) will conduct the 8th edition of the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) on April 30.
The large-scale mock drill, being organised under the Home Department with support from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, will simulate earthquake and extreme weather disaster scenarios to strengthen the state's preparedness and response capabilities. As part of pre-event activities, a virtual capacity-building programme was held on Tuesday (April 22), ahead of the main exercise.
A Table Top Exercise is scheduled for April 29 at the State Emergency Operation Centre, Capital Convention Centre, Kohima, where officials of line departments, including Additional Heads of Department and nodal officers for Disaster Management, will participate in person. District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) and other stakeholders will attend virtually.
