East and South Zones record victories; North Zone–West Zone match abandoned

Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): Rain and contrasting performances marked Thursday’s fixtures of the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy 2025 at Sovima, with East Zone and South Zone registering dominant wins in their respective matches, while the North Zone–West Zone encounter was abandoned due to a wet outfield.

At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, East Zone defeated North East Zone by nine wickets in a rain-shortened game reduced to seven overs per side. In another fixture at the same venue, South Zone overcame Central Zone by 44 runs in a full 20-over contest. Meanwhile, the North Zone–West Zone match at the Sovima Cricket Ground was called off without a ball being bowled.

East Zone defeat North East Zone by nine wickets
After being sent in to bat, North East Zone managed 42 runs for four wickets in their allotted seven overs. Nabam Yapu top-scored with a quick 22 off 15 balls, but consistent bowling from East Zone limited scoring opportunities.

Off-spinner Sushree Dibyadarshini was the standout with figures of three for 10 from two overs, removing key middle-order batters and curbing North East Zone’s momentum.

Chasing 43 for victory, East Zone made light work of the target, reaching 43 for one in three overs. Ashwani produced an explosive unbeaten 36 off 11 balls to seal the win and was named Player of the Match.

South Zone triumph over Central Zone by 44 runs

North Zone–West Zone match abandoned
