Kohima, July 12 (MExN): Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command, visited the Headquarters of the Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) in Kohima on Sunday.
During the visit, the Air Marshal laid a wreath at the Kohima War Cemetery, paying tribute to soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
He later visited the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), where he was briefed on the prevailing security situation and ongoing operational developments in the region.
The Air Marshal also interacted with officers and troops and appreciated their professionalism, high morale and commitment towards maintaining peace, security and stability in the North East.
The visit underscored the operational coordination and close synergy among the Indian Air Force, the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles, reaffirming their shared commitment to safeguarding national security and ensuring peace and stability in the region.
