Dimapur, April 19 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Association (ENSA) today claimed that the “eastern people” have been “suffering long enough for the Naga cause from the very beginning of Naga national movement while other Nagas are living luxurious life and who never experience like eastern Naga people.”
Making that assertion, the ENSA welcomes the ceasefire between the between the NSCN (Khaplang) and the Myanmar Government. The association said in a press release received here today that the people of the area have long desired for peace and the ceasefire brings hope that the people would now experience peace and development.
According to the ENSA the “eastern people” have been suffering long enough for the Naga cause from the very beginning of Naga national movement “while other Nagas are living luxurious life and who never experience like eastern Naga people.” The organization claimed further that the previous cease-fire agreement in 1964 and 1997 and 2011 with the Government of India and Naga undergrounds “never applied and reached out towards the eastern area” and “have suffered and discriminated by the innocent eastern Naga citizens.” Nonetheless, the association says a time has come for the “Naga cause or to table the problems with Myanmar government.” The ENSA lamented that many Naga “national leaders” have “already stopped their mission towards Naga cause and engaged in their individual benefits.” The organization hopes that “God will continue to grant wisdom both with NSCN (K) and Myanmar government, while the ENSA and eastern Naga people will support morally and physically as long as peace agreement is concerned.”
