IS THE EDUCATED CORRUPTED TOO?

Adilen Kipzz

At midday, a young school drop-out, while strolling along the roadside with his catapult, happened to meet the town’s SDO. Coincidently, the SDO turned out to be the same gentlemen the kid had been hearing of, since childhood. The lad had heard that a very bright student was emerging from their own hometown and all the students ought to look up to the studious gentleman as their model. As the car wroomed towards the lad, who was busy picking up stones for the catapult, it halted. The prestigious student turned SDO stepped out of the RED gypsy and asked the lad, (in a sweet tone) “Hi, dear, why are you here wasting your time when you should be at school? Don’t you know Good Education is Sealed Future? However, the lad shrugged his shoulders, aiming the catapult at a little lizard, answered boorishly, “Why be educated, even when the educated too end up as thieves?

Folks, this is NAGALAND. Where, a corrupt officer is shown the podium by the deacons on transferring tens of thousands, stolen money to the church. Where, the farming parents sweat to refine a coarse kid into an educated officer, however, ends up scooping the funds of the other poor alike farmers. Where, a chief guest is treated with respect for passing on some bribed money to the hosts. Where, you acquire some degree to extort money. Where, education is corruption.

Let’s admit it. We are all caught in, with the frame of mind that officers, or for that matter, even a peon, can be corrupted because he/she has acquired the place in office by his/her wits. How on Earth can that be not wrong? Shouldn’t employees work for the welfare of the people?

Is the salary you draw, an award for pilfering? When will you be thinking about your neighbour? The people should respect you for being successful in your career. That doesn’t include you bribing, extorting or misusing funds. Maybe, Nagas should start pondering as to whether God is being righteous. I’d say He is righteous on the Nagas. The Salary of the government employees gets deducted by the various factional groups. There it is, CTRL+J.  Parenthetically, let’s save the politicians for some other day, for somewhere under this title they don’t fall in line.

Dear Naga reader, you may be educated or you might not be. Let’s set a new goal. A corruption-free State! An honest State! A State without any proxy teacher! A State with 100% working employees! A State for Christ! Presently, Nagaland can’t be renowned for manufacturing cars, Detroit already is. Nagaland can’t be renowned for manufacturing computer products, Silicon Valley already is. Nagaland can’t be renowned for producing space engineers, NASA already is. Nagaland can’t be renowned for petroleum, the Middle-East already is. Nagaland can’t be renowned for nuclear or sophisticated weapons, The United States already is. However, Nagaland CAN be hugely revered for being the FIRST CORRUPTION-FREE STATE! Let’s begin now.
