As many says and which is true that ‘educated and unemployment’ is a nonsymmetrical word. Yes, Unemployment has been the biggest socio-economic problem in almost all the developing countries.According to unemployment rate July 18, 2020, in India, 8.3 per cent were unemployed which also indicates 10.8 person unemployed in urban and 7.1 per cent in rural. India has a major problem of chronicdisguised unemployment in the rural sector and the existence of unemployment among the educated classes.
According to Keynes India is not only facing an unemployment problem but also a deficiency of effective demand due to shortage of capital equipment’s and other complementary resources. No less Nagaland also had recorded the highest unemployment rate with 21.4 per cent in 2020, also facing the same unemployment problem as the State is salary oriented and not job creation. Nagaland is a state of rich natural resources, yet it lacked unemployment rate at 5.6 per cent and as the present population increases the rate of unemployment is to raise more and more. The present-day school and colleges enrollment of students are more than the job government and private can offer.
Educated unemployment level is also because of the high expectations of the job seekers and prefers to remain unemployed waiting for better and higher job according to its education gained and not willing to work with low income and low post thus, everyone wants a noble profession and fails to see the dignity of labour. An educated youth should know about the various schemes issued by the government and try to establish once own small firms. I would like to mention three sectors i.e., agriculture, tourism, and entrepreneur sectors.
With the Pandemic, we had felt the pinch of how important Agricultural sector is, therefore this sector can also be explored more also in Nagaland there are only approx. 2 per cent farmers and can see the deteriorating of farmers in every village, tourism sector is another sector where it can be explored more, as Nagaland is a tourist place with 33 villages and entrepreneur sector is also another sector where educated youths can also invest their mindset to bring reformation with innovative ideas. And the Government should also help find a way to tackle with the illegal tax collectors and encourage more so that the upcoming entrepreneurs or firms will have lesser problems and bring development.
In this way, State Economy will also find a way to boost their revenue generation and lead to development and ease the burden of unemployment.
