Elder-line Nagaland celebrates 4th anniversary in Kohima

Kohima, September 28 (MExN): The National Helpline for Senior Citizens- Elder-Line (14567 Nagaland) today celebrated its 4thAnniversary at its office at C.K Office Complex Building Kohima.

Addressing the gathering, Program Manager Akali Sema, urged upon the people to spread awareness about Elderline, so that better treatment could be provided to the senior citizens.

She stated that Elderline– 14567, a toll-free number implemented by the State Social Welfare Department, operates on all seven days of the week from 8: 00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The vision of the Elderline is to connect and engage with senior citizens and facilitate joyful and healthy ageing by serving senior citizens with honour and compassionate manner.

Its mission is to make a positive impact on the life of the elderly by creating a reliable national helpline which will act as a platform for redressing their grievances by providing necessary information and intervention.

She informed that the Elderline Connect Centre received a total of 6357calls till August 2025.

More than 500 Senior Citizens Card were made available to the elderly and 28 destitute elderly were allocated in Old Age Homes.
IT Leader Lesel Neikha and Call Officer Rokono Tetso also delivered short speech.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Elder Line connect leader Kevitsonuo Shüya while Kanili Lohe, Children Pastor, SABCK invoked God’s blessings.
