Apropos to our letter to the Editor on the subject “Election of Kedahge (President) FGN, which appeared in all the local dailies on 8th June 2006, there has been an error in the date of resignation of the then President Khrisanisa Seyietsu. Possibly, the error had surreptitiously crept in while typing the script and it is no fault of the newspapers concerned. Hence we would like to place on record the historical fact which cannot and should not be distorted. Khrisanisa Seyietsu, the first President of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) was elected to the presidency at Sanis, Lotha Region on 12th July 1956. After serving the Nags in this capacity, he had resigned from the post on 18th February 1959 (and not on 12th February 1959 as erroneously written earlier.
