New Delhi, March 14 (MExN): With the theme “Beyond Boundaries: Embracing Diversity Through Sports,” the 57th Annual Sports Week of the Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD) commenced at Police Ground Kingsway Camp, Delhi on March 13.
PN Khrimey, Joint Commissioner of Police, SPUNER & SPUWAC, officially declared the four-day sporting event open as the chief guest.

Meanwhile, the guest of honour and Resident Commissioner of Nagaland House Delhi, Wennyie Konyak, stressed that winning was not the sole objective of such an occasion and urged the players to show their “unity as one Naga” community as they acquainted themselves with other tribes and made new friends. In his welcome address, the NSDU President noted that divisiveness is on the rise in today’s world and sports can serve as a powerful catalyst for unity and understanding.

“Let us remember the values that sports instill in us - teamwork, perseverance, and respect,” he added.

As per the NSUD’s update on X, a total of eleven teams are participating in various competitions during the four-day event such as football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tug of war, chess, and track events.
