Energy Crisis: Light Nai!

Yan Fo Kikon: EVERYONE IS complaining THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY! THIS IS WHY THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY. We need to get our facts cleared before we aim our arrows at the Power Department.

Our State's power requirement is around 400 MW and we get only 220.72 MW which creates a HUGE deficit of 200MW! In short even if we blame the POWER DEPARTMENT, they can't do much to help can they? In a metaphorical sense, its like we're struck by a famine (energy crisis) - people are hungry but there is no food in the granary! So what must we do? Solution - Depend less on outsiders to FEED US! Plough our own fields and generate food. In the real sense, use our resources coal, river, wind etc in order to generate our own electricity! We must also ensure that the public is aware of all the power projects being undertaken by our Government to ensure that our energy requirements are being fulfilled! As per news articles, in the 12th Plan our state is expected to get 1MW from Lang Hydro Electric Project, 1MW from Tehok HEP, 40 MW from lower Tizu-Zingki! We get 80.5 MW and 20 MW from the North-East and Eastern power grids respectively. In 2011, we bought power amounting to Rs 200 Crores but collected only about Rs 80 Crores from the light bills that you pay!! This creates a huge deficit of about Rs 120 Crores! Power thefts and other anti socials are to be blamed for this mess.(Source – Google news)

Zachamo K. Ovung: Some handout info on Doyang H.E.Plant: On commissioning of the largest power plant in Nagaland the “Doyang Power Station” in the year 2002 having a capacity of 75 MW. As per the agreement with Govt. of Nagaland, 12% Free Power from DHEP is to be supplied to the State of Nagaland, which is being done by NEEPCO judiciously. Till 31st March’2010, 202 MU of Free Power has been supplied. This amounts to a total of Rs. 52 Crores as revenue to the State Govt.

Zhabu Rutsa: For your information, Kohima is the only division in Nagaland to reach the target fixed by the govt. for the year 2010-2011. Thanks to all the kohima ppl for paying your bill. For the past 4 years Electrical division Kohima has achieved the target set by the govt.

Vikeduo Linyü: We are sorry to inform you that due to ensuing HSLC and HSSLC exam. There will be frequent power cuts, to let the students know that they can also read under candle light.

Yours faithfully
Power department

P.S: Candlelight dinner for Valentine’s Day is also confirmed from the concerned department.

A HEART TOUCHING STORY

Rangro Herie: A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call hurriedly, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block.

He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. On seeing him, the dad yelled: "Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility? "

The doctor smiled & said: "I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call. And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work" "Calm down!

What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do?" said the father angrily.

The doctor smiled again & replied: "I will say what Job said in the Holy Book "From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God". Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go & intercede for your son, we will do our best by God's grace"

"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, "Thank goodness!, your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running. "If you have any question, ask the nurse!!" "Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.

With tears rolling down her cheeks, the nurse answered, "His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."
Moral: "Never judge anyone because you never know how their life is and what they are going through" Don't Forget To Share this. Spread humility to humanity.
