Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): The Eastern Naga National Workers' Union (ENNWU) of the NSCN (IM) has mourned the demise of C Sashi Naga, the President of Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) who passed away on May 17.
In a condolence message, Moba Chang (CLM), Convener ENNWU stated that the Nagas have lost a great leader who always stood fast to the called of the people. As a young enthusiastic and energetic leader, late Sashi had served in various capacities in the State cadre, won the hearts of the people, and brought many laurels to the eastern Nagas in particular and the Nagas in general, the message stated.
“The void created by his untimely demise is a great loss to the people and will be hard to fill in the days to come,” it said, while conveying condolences to the bereaved family members.
In another press release, the ENNWU paid tribute to former MLA K Imlong Chang who passed away on May 16 in Dimapur.
“He is one among many who is well qualified in the Nagaland Civil Service exam and served as a circle officer posted in various place in Nagaland. In his later years he was also elected as a MLA under 54 A/C Tuensang Sadar II and served the people in various capacities,” the union stated. Stating that his demise has created an irreparable void among the people of eastern Nagaland and the Nagas as a whole, it further stated that “We have lost another great fatherly figure and tallest leader whose absence will be hard to replace.”
The ENNWU also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
