Dimapur, January 21 (MExN): The boycott of the district-level teachers’ recruitment written examination launched by the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) passed off peacefully in all the 4 districts’ of the eastern regions of the state, the ENSF informed today.
The public of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng responded positively to the call for boycott, the ENSF said in a note received here.
“In Tuensang boycotting was spearheaded by the CCSU, KSU, USSC and YAA Officials and volunteers along with ENSF Officials.
In Longleng, PSC officials and volunteers alongside ENSF officials carried out the resolution of boycotting the recruitment of written examination as per the resolution of the federation. The call of the ENSF was responded with such enthusiasm that the boycott could be carried out so peacefully,” the ENSF asserted.
In Kiphire, the USSC and YAA led volunteers.
“The whole exercise was so peaceful that it seemed funny to ascertain whether written examination is really going on.
The gathering and discussion was solely centered round the lackadaisical attitude of the state government in implementing its own notification issued to ENSF on 14th Aug. 2011 from the office of the chief secretary agreeing in principle to all the 5 points charter of demand of the ENSF.” In Mon district, the boycott was spearheaded by the Konyak Students Union. The KSU team highlighted what the ENSF claimed is the “faulty recruitment process” of the “deptt. concerned.”
The ENSF has reiterated that the organization is “very serious” about the teachers recruitment process and would continue to struggle until the demands are fulfilled. “It is an assurance to all the eastern Nagas that the ENSF have already chalked out phase wise process of exercises in connection to this issue which will be carried out slowly and dutifully in the days ahead meticulously,” the ENSF said.
The ENSF has asked all its units to be present for an emergency meeting scheduled to be held on Monday, January 23 in Tuensang at 9.30 AM. The organization would decide the “mode of action taken report and strategy,” the note informed. The public and aspiring candidates are requested to bear with the ENSF for “any kind of inconveniences and await the call of the ENSF.”
