ENSUD issues ultimatum to NAMSA for alleged bias

Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): A students’ union in Dimapur today gave the Nagaland Adventure & Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) three days to clarify and apologize publically for allegedly ‘discriminating’ a participant in the recent Hornbill motor racing event.

The Eastern Naga Students’ Union of Dimapur (ENSUD) issued a note today accusing the NAMSA of discrimination, favoritism and “assassination of competitive spirit.” The ENSUD has demanded a “public apology,” rectification of the prize distributed and “concrete clarification” why the participant, one H Lemei Phom was “discriminated.”

The union referred to the recently-concluded Hornbill International Motor Rally organized by NAMSA where, the union claimed, the competitor “as per declaration of the provisional result, she was declared in the 2nd position but she was totally discriminated and oppressed during the prize ceremony.”

The ENSUD claimed further that the NAMSA “with vested interest have been trying to spread the inferno of confusion” to “mislead the general public.”

If the NAMSA fails to comply within 72 hours or 3days, the ENSUD said, the union would resort to an own course of action and “any untoward incident arising out of it, the NAMSA will be held solely responsible.” The note was appended by the union’s president P Honko Luklem and general secretary Setsipa Sangtam.
