Entrepreneurship growth and avenues: WDEA commemorates 8th foundation day

Wokha, June 16 (MExN): Wokha District Entrepreneurs’ Association (WDEA) commemorated its 8th foundation day on the theme ‘entrepreneurship growth and avenues’ in Wokha on June 15. 

Speaking as resource persons, M Mhabemo Kithan, Economic Investigator/Inspector of Industry, DIC, Wokha and Anuranjan Singh, Skill Development Officer Wokha, MGNF, Ministry of skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India highlighted various central flagship sponsorship programmes through different departments. A press note received here stated that M Mhabemo highlighted on Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Enterprise (PMFME), where he briefed on the eligibility and processing in availing loans. He encouraged the young entrepreneurs to avail the facilities and make use of the schemes positively as mostly people opt to harvest the subsidy and there are fewer establishments of units in regard. 

Meanwhile, he cleared the queries during a short interaction with the business community in regard to various schemes specifically provided for business and young entrepreneurs.

Anuranjan Singh sought for women entrepreneurs in the district by encouraging the women folks to dwell in the business sector. He highlighted schemes for the women section in the field of business through Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) in building and nurturing an ecosystem that enables them to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations.

He spoke on various schemes like Vikaspedia platform to bridge the gap between entrepreneur and government schemes; a Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (SCLCSS) to promote new enterprises and support the existing enterprises in their expansion for enhanced participation in the public procurement; Developing district as Export Hub to promote local produced products to international market; Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna (PMMY) to provide credit support to non-corporate, non-farm small or micro enterprises; Stand Up India to facilitate loans Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore to at least one SC or ST borrower and at least one women borrower per branch for setting up a Greenfield enterprise. 
He called to promote local products with GI logo to convey the ‘National Pride and the essence of India’ while he sought to take up an initiative of ‘Made in Wokha’ to promote the local entrepreneurs and products.

Earlier, Renpithung Kikon president, Wokha District Chamber of Commerce Industry and Thungdemo Kyon, a social worker in their short speeches instilled the local entrepreneurs to vibrantly work together, exchange ideas, encourage and promote one another for a progressive growth. They urged the business community to have innovative ideas in accommodating youth in the district by providing job platforms and opportunity.

The programme was attended by around 30 individuals from various business sectors including services providers, manufacturing units, small tea growers and various local business units. It was chaired by Zarenchi A Murry while presidential note was delivered by William Kikon and vote of thanks was pronounced by Thunglamo Odyuo.
