Tuensang, April 25 (DIPR): The 3rd general conference of Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) was held at Noklak town from April 23 hosted by Khiamiungan Menyiu Hoikam. The conference was graced by Apham Noke as chief guest and Joint Director DUDA Dr. Anungla Imdong as resource person.
A book titled ‘Panorama of Eastern Nagaland’ containing rich ethnic custom ornaments and artefacts of six tribes of Eastern Nagaland was released by the chief guest. In her speech, she called upon the Eastern Nagaland ladies to be a devoted wife and be a role model for everyone. She impressed upon the importance of faithfulness, patience and acceptance and working side by side with man for greater good of the society. She further called upon them to preserve the rich ethnic costume and ornaments of the eastern Nagas.
Other highlights during the conference included cultural parade by 6 (six) sisters and exhibition cum sale of articles. A team of new office bearers were also elected headed by Berila Tokiu as President, Nati H. Chang as General Secretary.
The next 4th ENWO conference is schedule to be held at Shamator in 2017. ENPO President, Tribal leaders, all ladies gazetted officers, legislator’s wives and delegates from various fields attended the conference.
