From the TV screen to the pictures portrayed in the streets, one need not argue much that humans have become a slave to the erotomania of oneself. Erotomania is defined as the excessive sexual inclination or desire. India is considered the largest movie-producing nation in the world and there are very less film, I suppose, in our own Bollywood makings that are totally free from explicit pictures. Children from a young age are exposed to all the wrong concept and notions about sex, marriage and moral values. These seductions are destroying individuals, family relations and society. It is not surprising at all that porn sites are the most viewed websites in the world. Admit it. We have become a slave of our own bodily desires. Clearly, there’s something that has taken a hold of millions of soul and deliverance from this bondage seems an impossible
Our world has come to a point where human’s need for food is compared the same as that of our sexual needs. Casual sexual affairs and desacralizing of relationships are direct or indirect attachment to this issue. Rapes, molestation and pornography are filling our nations and homes with a dark cloud that births right from our smartphones, mobiles, iPhones, laptops and TV programmes. What we perceive from the world of information is influencing the mind to perceive in that direction. Particularly womenfolk and children are the ones who are the suffering group in this area. From child prostitution to women enslavement, our world seems to be intoxicated and seduced by an ever increasing sensual desires that callous the hearts and mind of people from looking deeper into the real and nasty details of all the realities within the picture industries. Women are not merely machines to satisfy the hunger of the menfolk. Remember, they are not sexual machines but humans and they are someone’s daughter/sister. It is plain ridiculous and demonic in its own way.
The problem lies in the industries of media who cares more about money than human.Men, as a result, are enslaved by this false passion killing their consciousness to be human.Adding to that, the music industry as well is playing a pivotal role in destroying the morale of millions around the globe. Almost all the music in the world that people listens to today are saturated with immoral lifestyle and promoting Sodomic(homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, promiscuity, etc.) perspective. Although nothing can be changed about this, it’s a serious thought that needs to be pondered by everyrational intellectual human. This false notion about human body can be transformedif only our minds can change because what controls our mind ultimately controls us in the end.
Buddha was one of the religious founders who admitted that the Desire of human flesh was one of the fundamental reasons for the suffering in this world. If we could eradicate Desire, then for a Buddhist, that’s the ultimate bliss. For an Islam, sexual desire is viewed as an appetite that must be properly satisfied. It forbids controlling and deprivation of the sexual behaviour. Now, from a Christian worldview, the old nature of adamic race is the ultimate reason for our flawed desires. We desire the thing of the flesh and the world because of our sinful nature. Only in the receiving of Christ’s new life and Spirit, the old nature of sin can be eliminated. The famed Puritan preacher, Thomas Chalmers described it poignantly, “This new affection of heart expels all other old seductions and attractions.” This is exactly how a Christian life should correspond. In the words of Dr. Ravi Zacharias, “… not just being freed from the guilt of sin but from the power of sin,” is a brilliant definition of a true Christian.
On the self-destruction of 20th Century Western Man, MalcomMuggeridge said this, “… it has become abundantly clear in the second half of the twentieth century that Western man has decided to abolish himself. Having wearied of the struggle to be himself, he has created his own boredom out of his own affluence, his own impotence out of his own erotomania, his own vulnerability out of his own strength; himself blowing up the trumpet that brings the walls of his own city tumbling down, and,… until at last, having educated himself into imbecility, and polluted and drugged himself into stupefaction, he keeled over-a weary, battered old brontosaurus- and became extinct.” What a clear description about the Western society that has been one of the Christian dominated countries in the world for centuries. Now that they are rejecting and trading the God of Christianity for materialism and pleasures, we see more of inhuman acts birthing right from their own schools and universities. These could very well fit in to our society with the proliferation of all the erotomaniac culture of our day which may lead to the decay of our moral and ethical norms-ultimately our extinction.
