Kiphire, June 13 (MExN): Former President of the Seyochung Village Students’ Union, Longtili C Sangtam, has donated essential medicines to the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC) in Seyochung on June 13.
According to an update from Sangtam, health staff reported that the centre recorded a total of 129 out patient department (OPD) visits in April and 90 in May 2026. Antenatal care (ANC) check-ups are being actively conducted, and Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) programmes are regularly organised every month across the catchment area.
The Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) stationed at the centre highlighted operational challenges, stating that managing the facility has become difficult since the Community Health Officer (CHO) went on six months of maternity leave.
“Since Seyochung is a large village, the number of visitors is quite high, especially these days. Running the centre alone is very difficult. I would like to request the concerned stakeholders to consider providing additional support staff during this period,” she said.
The ANM also expressed gratitude to Longtili C Sangtam for the medicine donation, noting that the supplies were much needed at the centre.
