EUUN rejects 22 ‘backdoor appointments’

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): The Educated Unemployed Union of Nagaland (EUUN) demanded revocation of 22 appointments in the Directorate of Treasury & Accounts ‘without giving advertisement or conducting competitive examinations.’ According to a note, the Directorate of Treasury & Accounts appointed 22 junior accounts assistants and two LDA-computer assistants “through backdoor” on July 21, 2011. The vacancies were filled through recommendations of the department’s recruitment board “without giving advertisement or conducting competitive examination entirely violating recruitment norms.” The appointment is a huge disappointment to the younger generation, the union said in its note, appended by chairman Temsumongba Sanglir and general secretary Nitoho Chishi. The EUUN demanded immediate revocation of the appointments and secondly, to advertise the posts for open competition. Failing to do so would compel the union to take its own course of action, the EUUN said.
