Merama Khel's super structured community building inaugurated

Kohima, December 18 (MExN): A super structured Community building of Merama Khel, Phesama Village designed to cater multipurpose needs was inaugurated today with Vilelie Khamo, Class-1 contractor as special guest.

“Let the dwelling be an embodiment of excellence and let it exemplify the spirit of community,” Khamo exhorted while delivering the dedicatory speech while also encouraging the khel to utilise the building purposefully and make it a legacy for the coming generation.

He recalled the ingenuity of those who had sacrificed and contributed towards the building construction, he pointed "accomplishments doesn't come with the desire to store wealth in huge amount, but the will to start setting a target with the risk of putting dedication and commitment into it."

Stating that his village, Mima and Phesama has had good association in the past, he reminisced his yonder schooling days with his friends from the village.

During the inauguration ceremony, Ketoupuzo Lhoushe, Convenor, Building Committee giving a brief report stated that the 4-storeyed building will serve varying use of more than the khel's need. The structure, provisioned for hosting tourists and guests has conference hall, kitchen, dining space, bedded rooms and suites. “The building can also be a source of income generation for the Khel youths,” the Convenor said.

The structure expensed to about Rs. 72 lakh is designed by Richard Belho and remains at the same site of the previous Khel hall. It was started in 2013.

Envisaging for the course onwards, he called the Khel people to co-operate to bring manifold learning out of it, and yield better unity, progress, and blessings of elders.

The event was chaired by Neilhouvi Chütso. Short speeches were delivered by Kethozhapu Sahu and Vichüsa Zashümo. The ceremony was also attended by other Khel representatives, villagers from the Southern Angami villages, frontal organisations and student bodies.

Folk songs were presented by women folks.
