Pfütsero, September 4 (MExN): The three-day exhibition cum sales Pfütsero 2025, organised by the Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), concluded here on Thursday.
Held at the Pfütsero Public Ground from September 2 to 4, the event was part of the nationwide Grameen Bharat Mahotsav and also commemorated the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, aiming to spotlight rural innovation and cooperative values.
Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Phek, graced the inauguration as the special guest, alongside leaders from women’s organisations, civil societies, and the business community across Phek district.
The exhibition featured 35 stalls showcasing a diverse array of local produce and traditional crafts, alongside skill-building workshops. It provided a platform for grassroots entrepreneurs to engage in sales, build networks, and gain visibility, drawing enthusiastic participation from local residents and cooperative members.
In her address, Dr Kaur emphasised the dignity of labour, the importance of equal opportunities for women, and the central role of agriculture in sustaining rural livelihoods. She inspired attendees to pursue self-reliance and meaningful networking.
Leaders from various civil society organisations encouraged entrepreneurs to cultivate patience and resilience, stressing the need to empower communities to take ownership of their economic futures.
NABARD’s support for the initiative underscores its ongoing commitment to promoting off-farm livelihoods, financial inclusion, and rural enterprise development across the North East region, stated a press release from WENN.
