DIMAPUR: An exhibition “Appreciating Physics in everyday life” was inaugurated by H.K. Nzimongo Ngullie, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur as the chief guest here today at Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School (LFHSS), Dimapur. The resource persons were Dr. Stephen Lotha and Dr. Devrani both, Lecturer, Deptt of Physics Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.

While exhorting the students present Dr. Stephen Lotha quoted “Supposing a roof was blown off by the wind, ever wandered why and how it happened? The answer lies with physics” and continued that every thing that surrounds everyone is nothing but science.

Dr. Devrani strongly refuted the general belief of the masses that “Science is a hard subject” and added that any phenomenon one observes cannot escape from science in general and physics in particular.

The subject which is been usually assumed as a dull study matter, if with self-interest accompanied by analyzing it practically then only the topic will appear interesting, Dr. Devrani further added.

The chief guest in his speech expressed that science has provided human beings both constructive (citing the example of things which added comfort to life) and destructive (like those of nuclear weapons which have killed thousands of innocent lives) course and it is up to the masses to chose any of the two. He advised the students to be watchful while opting for it.

The present society is blended with so many anti-social activities, he said while advising the students to stay away from all those activities.
