Dimapur, April 8 (MExN): Good news for the foodies, a new food joint called ‘Exotic Kitchen’ at Half Nagarjan in Dimapur was launched April 7, with bamboo shoot as the focus ingredient. Food adventurers can let their taste buds experience the taste of ‘burger with bamboo shoot’.
Proprietor of the food joint, Chef Shangriewon Multhou with her friend and business partner Chef Alemjungla Jamir launched the restaurant with a motive of what they said is to popularize Naga cuisine. Shangriewon said the restaurant specialises in improvised Naga food and a touch of Naga flavour in the other international cuisine as well. If the response from customers is positive, she will be adding more ‘exotic Naga food’ in the menu. She hopes to serve fried frog legs, bee larvae, silk worm and such which would possibly attract tourists who are ever ready to try anything different.
Chef Shangriewon is also the manager of ‘The Exotic School of Cooking’. The school provides crash course in the basics of cooking. She graduated in Hotel Management and started her career in IDC from Delhi. Later, she joined the Taj Hotel in Mumbai and was in United States for two years, with her specialisation in Japanese cuisine.
Dr Rev Coppe Mero dedicated the new restaurant in a simple ceremony.
