DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): The DDADU has extended its gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur and the district administration in extending the date from March 6 to 8 (12days) in implementing the dress code for auto drivers under the said union. A press note from DDADU stated that the union is a medium to co-ordinate and assist the administration for smooth functioning and also uphold the interest and welfare of auto drivers who play a vital role in providing daily transportation to our citizens. So it becomes our bounden duty to work accordingly and issue both identity card and uniform to each registered driver, it added.
The DDADU has appealed to the DMC to collect parking tax on a one ticket for one auto per day and not to put pressure on the auto drivers by imposing multiple taxes in different parking areas. It needs to be realised that directly or indirectly we are rendering services to the people and hence we also look forward to the co-operation from both the government agencies as well as the public in serving you better, DDADU stated.
Further the DDADU appreciated the district administration for agreeing to raise the auto fares by Rs. 5 /- which comes into being with immediate effect. The rate chart will be provided to each driver from the union office in due course of time and may be asked for incase of any confusion, it informed.
